Our Cape Horn 55 Trawler “Nomad” a long range explorer yacht purchased in 2024 in New Caledonia, brought to Fiji for some refit.

A hull paint job, a 32kwh lifepo4 battery bank, 5.2kw of solar and new navigation instruments and radar. A new induction cooktop and air fryer for all electric galley.

I added two 10kva inverters, one for 60hz 240/120v system and one for 50hz 240v system.

With enough solar, we do not need a generator but have one for backup.

The boat weighs 85 tons fully loaded with over 4000 gallons of fuel giving us a range of over 10,000 nautical miles @ 6 knots travel speed. We can do extended voyages, anchor at remote islands for many, many months very comfortably. With the equipment to enjoy off grid living without compromise, we plan on many years of adventure.
